ProBrains, All-Karachi IT Competition and Exhibition at Karachi University
ONE SHINE morning of October 1st, 2011, in Department of Computer Science, University of Karachi the great talent of Information Technology students of different universities of Karachi were gathered at the ProBrains, All-Karachi IT Competition and Exhibition for The Battle of Minds.In Opening Ceremony, Pro Vice Chancellor Karachi University Prof. Shahana Urooj was the chief guest, Chief Operating Officer TPS Owais Habib Khan and Head HR Tradkey Private Limited Uzair Ahmed were also there to grace the occasion.Prof. Shahana Urooj appreciated this activity and said that IT is the future of world and IT students of Pakistan have to work hard to take part in advancement of IT industry. After the opening ceremony there was competition and exhibition session in which more than 400 students of different universities participated in different categories of programming, networking, web designing, short animation, gaming and IT-quiz competition and more than 60 students presented their software and mobile applications in software and mobile application exhibition.After competition and exhibition session there was a prize distribution ceremony in which Chairman Department of Computer Science, University of Karachi, Sir Badar Sami was the chief guest with other faculty members.According to results 1st position in Networking Competition and IT-Quiz is taken by Karachi University Students and 2nd by Students of Mehran University Engineering & Technology, Jamshoro; Programming and Short Animation Competition won by FAST-NU students, Mobile Application and Software Exhibition won by NED students, Web Designing won by MAJU Students, and Gaming competition won by MAJU, SSUET, PAF-KIET and KU students. Sir Badar Sami presents the shields to successful students of competition and exhibition and congratulates the students and appreciated the organizers on this great IT-Event. In the end Abdul Muqtadir Ghazi, President ProBrains presents the souvenir to Chairman Department of Computer Science, Badar Sami and other faculty members.
